Does it feel like you have been preparing for Christmas since October? Even if Christmas is cozy with communities, lit candles and home bake it can be nice with a break as well. Take some time off from the Christmas buffet and family and spend some "me" time with yourself. During winter, it's easy to end up in the couch in front of the TV and it can be challenging to motivate ourselves to move. The cold weather can make us pull our shoulders towards our ears, we dress more, move less and it's more common that we have back and neck pain during the Christmas rush.
I've just spent 2 months in Bali in Ubud where I've gathered a lot of spiritual yoga energy from all corners of the world. I have continued my yoga journey and practiced new meditation techniques, Pranayama (breathing exercices), Satsang, Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga Mysore, Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga. Come along this Christmas for a 3 day workhop to learn more about Ashtanga Yoga and recharge our batteries for the new year.
DETOX & YIN - SUNDAY 25/12
Day after Christmas we will make a soft start. Maybe we had a little bit too much of that Christmas ham, or drank a bit too much of the mulled wine. The theme on Sunday is Detox Yoga combined with Yin. We will warm up with Kapalabathi and do lots of twists to stimulate our metabolism, the liver and the kidneys. Then we will stretch the whole body and finish with a few Yin postures to go inwards to reflect upon life at the same time as we target Fascia which is the ligament between the muscles and the bones.
ASHTANGA PART 1, STANDING POSTURES - MONDAY 26/12
Learn more about Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. A traditional form from India founded by Sri. K. Patthabi Jois in Mysore in 1948. It's a dynamic form of yoga that requires a lot of discipline. We will learn how to move with the breath and start from the beginning and the opening mantra from Patanjali. Then we will go through Sun Salutations A and B in detail. It's a perfect mini series to create your own self practice at home! Then we will go through the standing postures which is the first half of the Primary Series. We finish with stretching and relaxation.
ASHTANGA PART 2, SITTING POSTURES - TUESDAY 27/12
Part 2 of the Ashtanga Primary series. We will repeat the sun salutations and what we learned on the previous day. Then we go deeper into the sitting postures which are excellent for focus and stimulating the inner organs and give a good stretch to the hamstrings and the hips. We finish with a deep relaxation and try the closing mantra from Patanjali.
After these three days the Christmas stress will be forgotten and we have learned some more about Ashtanga Yoga.
I'm looking forward to meet you this Christmas.
Love & Light,
